Ram Temple Trust shortlists 18 candidates for first CEO post
In India, there is a very famous temple called the Ram Temple in the city of Ayodhya.
A special group called the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust takes care of it.
The group needed a new leader, called the Chief Executive Officer, or CEO.
More than five thousand people from across the country asked for the job.
A small committee of three people spent about twenty days reading all the applications.
Now only eighteen people are left for the final round.
Many of them are retired government officers, former company bosses, or retired military leaders.
The final interviews will happen on August 11 and 12.
The panel will check their experience, their commitment to the job, and whether they are willing to live and work in Ayodhya.
Soon, the Trust will have its first CEO.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has shortlisted 18 candidates for final interviews to select its first Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
More than 5,300 applications were received, according to one report, while another cites over 5,000, screened over nearly 20 days by a three-member committee.
The shortlisted candidates are largely retired bureaucrats, former senior corporate executives and retired defence officials.
Final one-on-one interviews are scheduled for August 11 and 12, with applicants having administrative experience likely to be preferred.
Applications were invited last month in the wake of a donation theft row that rocked the temple, and the new CEO must be willing to work out of Ayodhya.
