Vinaytosh Mishra Takes Additional Charge as Odisha DGP

A very important police leader in Odisha, named Vinaytosh Mishra, got a new big job.

The old leader, Y B Khurania, retired, so Mishra is now in charge of all the police in the state.

He was welcomed with a special ceremony and a guard of honour.

Mishra will do this job until a new permanent leader is chosen.

He said he wants to keep women safe, stop drugs, and fight cybercrimes.

He also wants to help people affected by floods in the state.

The police will work with a special rescue team called ODRAF to help those people.

This new job is happening while some people question how the permanent leader is chosen.

A case about this is being looked at by the Supreme Court.

So Mishra is helping out for now, but a final decision will come later.
