Assam empowers 39 lakh women entrepreneurs to build profitable businesses

The government of Assam, a state in India, wants to help women start and grow their own businesses.

The Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, said the government supports nearly 39 lakh women entrepreneurs, which is a very large number.

Many of these women live in villages and take part in self-help groups and rural livelihood activities.

A platform called Assam Rural is being used to provide this support.

The plan is called the 'Lakhpati Didi' vision, to help women earn and become financially independent.

Women are being encouraged to do more than traditional jobs and build bigger, profitable enterprises.

Stronger women's businesses can create jobs and improve family incomes in villages.

This helps women become active participants in the economy instead of just receiving help.

The goal is a stronger rural economy for the whole state.
