Lokesh Sets Foundation Stone for Model Rythu Bazaar
A new Model Rythu Bazaar is planned in Mangalagiri.
Nara Lokesh performed the foundation ceremony on Thursday, although some reports said he would perform it that day.
The market will be built on 5.90 acres.
Reports give its cost as either Rs 18 crore or Rs 18.55 crore.
Farmers will have places to sell vegetables, fruits, flowers and other products.
Wholesale sellers will get unloading platforms and cold storage.
Shoppers and workers will have parking, toilets, washing areas and a canteen.
The market will also use solar panels and an organic waste converter.
Nara Lokesh laid the foundation stone for a Model Rythu Bazaar near the Nidamarru Railway Gate in Mangalagiri on Thursday, although two reports described the ceremony as forthcoming.
The integrated retail and wholesale market will cover 5.90 acres, with reports putting its estimated cost at either Rs 18 crore or Rs 18.55 crore.
The 71,925-square-foot retail section will include 102 vegetable stalls, 54 fruit and flower stalls, and 60 shops for other products.
The wholesale area will provide 18 unloading platforms, 23 vegetable shops, cold storage, washing areas, administrative facilities, a canteen and public toilets.
The project will include parking, water and power infrastructure, garbage collection, an organic waste converter and rooftop solar panels.
