Delhi Police checked whether foreign visitors were following their visa rules.

During the checks, officers found four Bangladesh nationals who had allegedly stayed longer than permitted.

They were found at hotels in the Nabi Karim area of central Delhi.

Their visas allowed them to stay for up to 15 days on each visit.

Police said they had remained in India beyond that limit.

The four people were taken before the Foreigners Regional Registration Office.

They were then sent to the Sarai Rohilla detention centre.

Officials began deportation proceedings against them.
