Bengaluru Police Send 31 Bangladeshi Nationals Toward Deportation
Bengaluru police found 31 Bangladeshi nationals whom they say were living in the city without valid documents.
The people were identified during a special police operation called Operation Muktha.
Police took them by train from Bengaluru to Malda in West Bengal.
Twenty police officers traveled with them for security.
In Malda, officials will complete legal paperwork.
The group may then be handed to the Border Security Force.
The individuals could be sent back to Bangladesh through the deportation process.
Police began the operation to check the status of foreign nationals living in Bengaluru.
Thirty-one Bangladeshi nationals allegedly staying illegally in Bengaluru were sent to Malda, West Bengal, for deportation processing.
The individuals were identified during Bengaluru police’s Operation Muktha and transported from SMVT railway station in a specially arranged coach.
Twenty police personnel accompanied them as a security escort to Malda.
Police said the group will complete legal formalities before being handed over to the Border Security Force for repatriation to Bangladesh.
Operation Muktha verified 2,944 suspected foreign nationals and identified 105 Bangladeshi nationals allegedly staying illegally in Bengaluru.
