Amit Shah Moves Kerala Name Change Bill in Lok Sabha

In India, there is a meeting called the Lok Sabha where elected leaders gather to make laws.

A leader named Amit Shah, who is in charge of home affairs, wants that meeting to vote on two bills.

One bill would change the official name of a state called Kerala.

Another bill would update an old law from 1962 that deals with organisations called co-operatives, which help farmers and workers.

The day before, these bills and two more were brought into the meeting with a lot of noise and arguing.

On Tuesday, the meeting was expected to start at 11 o'clock in the morning with a question time.

Many ministers planned to share papers and reports from their departments.

Two messages from another group called the Rajya Sabha were also going to be shared.

The main point is that the leaders are trying to get these new laws approved.
