Parliament passes Keralam renaming, NCDC loan expansion bills

Two new laws were passed by the Parliament of India.

One law changes the name of the state of Kerala to 'Keralam.'

Keralam is how the name sounds in the local language.

The state government had asked the central government to make this change.

The other law is about a group called NCDC.

NCDC is an organization that helps cooperative societies, which are groups of people working together, like farmers or workers.

Before, NCDC had limits on what it could do.

The new law lets NCDC give loans and money directly to cooperative societies all over the country.

Both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, the two parts of Parliament, approved the laws.

The new laws were passed in New Delhi, India's capital.
