Maharashtra key to Viksit Bharat journey: Fadnavis cites 8.8% growth
On Independence Day, Maharashtra's Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, gave a speech in Mumbai.
He said Maharashtra is the biggest economy in India and is growing fast, at 8.8 percent this year.
He told everyone that Maharashtra will help India become a rich, developed country, which people call 'Viksit Bharat'.
He wants every district in the state to grow, not just the big cities.
He talked about helping farmers by cancelling their loans and giving them electricity during the day.
Right now, 76 percent of farmers have daytime electricity, and Fadnavis promised that all farmers will have it within a year.
He also said India is now the fourth-largest economy in the world and that 25 crore people have come out of poverty.
India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, shared a plan called 'Sapta Dhara' to make India fully developed by 2047.
Fadnavis asked everyone to remember their duties and keep the national flag flying high.
