Police in Pune have registered a case against Amit Thackeray and several unidentified people.

They are accused of entering a government college office without permission.

A college staff member said they removed a photograph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The staff member also alleged that the group threatened employees and caused a disturbance.

The group reportedly stayed inside after being asked to leave.

The incident happened on Monday afternoon at the college in Ganeshkhind.

Police registered the case under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Maharashtra Police Act.

Thackeray said he is ready to face the cases and will speak up over remarks about respected historical and social figures.
