The injured guard was identified as Parshotam Lal, a resident of Chore Panjian in Majalta.
Parshotam Lal suffered a gunshot wound to his abdomen and was taken to a hospital; his condition was not immediately known.
Police began investigating the incident to determine the exact circumstances of the accidental discharge.
