Andhra Police Shoot Suspect During Alleged Knife Attack
Police were looking for people suspected of attacking a police officer near Rajamahendravaram.
During the search, officers found a man named Avinadh riding a motorcycle.
Police said he fell while trying to escape and then attacked a constable with a knife.
They also said he threw stones at a police vehicle.
Officers first fired shots into the air and told him to stop.
Police then shot him in the legs, saying they were protecting themselves.
Avinadh and the injured constables were taken to hospitals.
Police are still investigating whether Avinadh was connected to a ganja-related group.
