Eight Suspected Terror Associates Apprehended in South Kashmir Operations
Security forces carried out several searches in two parts of South Kashmir.
Two men were arrested in a forest area of Pulwama after officials received information about possible terrorist activity.
A pistol, 12 bullets and a hand grenade were reportedly found.
In Shopian, six more people were arrested in two separate operations.
Three of them were stopped while traveling on a motorcycle in Heerpora.
Officials said two hand grenades and posters were found with that group.
The other three were arrested during joint patrolling in the Imamsahib area.
Police are investigating the cases and the suspected associates’ connections.
Joint operations in Pulwama and Shopian led to the apprehension of eight suspected terrorist associates.
Two men were arrested in Yarwan forest near CB Nath in Pulwama during the night of August 24–25.
Officials said a pistol, 12 rounds of ammunition and a hand grenade were recovered from the Pulwama suspects.
Six more people were apprehended in two Shopian operations, with grenades, ammunition and other material recovered.
Police registered FIRs in Rajpora and Heerpora, while investigations into the suspects’ links and recovered items continue.
