Amit Shah Opens World Archery Para Series in Ahmedabad
A big para-archery competition is being held in Ahmedabad.
Amit Shah officially opened the event online.
The competition will run from September 5 to 9.
It will include 108 athletes from 19 countries.
Archers from countries such as China, France, Germany and the United States are taking part.
Shah said Ahmedabad is building better places for athletes to train and compete.
He also said India could become important in sports engineering, sports medicine and injury recovery.
Ahmedabad hopes to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games and has applied to host the 2036 Olympic Games.
Amit Shah inaugurated the World Archery Para Series Amdavad 2026 through video conferencing on Friday.
The competition is scheduled in Ahmedabad from September 5 to 9, with 108 athletes from 19 countries.
Participants include archers from Bhutan, the United Kingdom, China, Bangladesh, France, Germany, Indonesia and the United States.
Shah said Ahmedabad and India are developing international-standard sports facilities, training centres and sports-related industries.
He highlighted Ahmedabad’s plans to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games and its bid for the 2036 Olympic Games.
