Nalgonda Ranks Second Nationally for Cleaner Air

Nalgonda was recognized as having the second-cleanest air among certain small cities in India.

The ranking came from Swachh Vayu Survekshan 2026.

This survey checks how cities work to reduce air pollution.

Nalgonda is in the group of cities with fewer than three lakh people.

The city received a prize of Rs 20 lakh.

Officials said actions such as controlling road dust and managing waste helped.

Planting more greenery and adding electric-vehicle charging stations also contributed.

Nalgonda received the same national rank in 2024.

That earlier recognition included Rs 25 lakh and a trophy.
