Vijayawada Corporation Wins National Swachh Vayu Survey Recognition
Vijayawada’s city corporation received recognition for helping improve air quality.
Its 60th ward came second in a national competition.
The competition was called Swachh Vayu Sarvekshan-2026.
Vijayawada’s 31st ward won the top award among wards in its State.
The city corporation also received Rs 30 lakh.
The awards were presented in New Delhi on Monday.
Guntur Municipal Corporation also received national recognition.
It came second in the survey for its efforts to control air pollution.
Vijayawada Municipal Corporation’s 60th ward secured second place nationally in the Best Performing Wards category.
VMC’s 31st ward was named the Best Performing Ward at the State level.
VMC received a cash prize of Rs 30 lakh with its national recognition.
Municipal Commissioner H.M. Dhyanachandra accepted the award from Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav in New Delhi.
Guntur Municipal Corporation also secured second place in the Swachh Vayu Sarvekshan for its air-pollution control efforts.
