Delhi Metro’s new CCTVs to get smarter: AI system to spot crowding, track intrusions, and odd behaviour · financialexpress.com

Delhi Metro plans to install a smarter camera system at 76 locations.

The new cameras will replace older analogue cameras and use artificial intelligence.

They may warn staff when someone enters a track area or when a station becomes too crowded.

They can also notice loitering, camera tampering and unusual movements.

Operators will be able to search recorded video using details such as clothing colour and age group.

The system is designed to keep tracking a person across cameras, even if the person changes clothes.

The cameras will send live and recorded video to the Metro’s central monitoring network.

The project covers parts of three Metro lines, along with depots and control centres.

DMRC says the upgrade should be finished within one year.
