UP Cabinet Clears Chitrakoot Expressway and Ex-Agniveer Quota
The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved 23 different plans.
One plan will build a new expressway near Chitrakoot.
The road will be about 15 kilometres long and have six lanes.
The government says it should improve travel and help tourism.
Former Agniveers will get reserved places in some jail and transport enforcement jobs.
More than 14,000 primary schools will be developed as smart schools.
The state also wants to encourage toy factories and create jobs.
Small farmers can receive long-term loans of up to Rs 6 lakh at 6% yearly interest.
Other plans include an ethanol factory, an NSG centre and city development projects.
The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved 23 proposals, including the Rs 1,008.67-crore Chitrakoot Link Expressway.
The 15.172-km, six-lane, access-controlled expressway will be built on an Engineering, Procurement and Construction basis.
Former Agniveers will receive 20% reservation in direct recruitment for jail warder and enforcement constable posts, with age relaxation.
The Cabinet approved smart-school development for 14,429 primary schools and a new toy manufacturing promotion policy.
Other decisions covered farmer loans, an ethanol plant, an NSG centre, vehicle testing rules and urban expansion projects.
