Its industries minister says the state’s economy has grown substantially since 2016.

The government says it has created more than 37 lakh job opportunities.

It is building roads, airports, waterways and large industrial areas to attract companies.

New projects include a pharma park, defence facilities and electronics factories.

The state says about half of India’s mobile phone production happens there.

It has also introduced policies meant to make it easier for businesses to operate.

Companies have signed investment promises worth more than Rs 50 lakh crore, although these promises are not legally binding.

The government says these efforts will help Uttar Pradesh reach a $1-trillion economy by 2029-30.
