Security forces seized 2.5 kg of suspected heroin worth about Rs 5 crore in Manipur’s Churachandpur district and arrested two people.
In Mizoram, 44 grams of suspected heroin valued at about Rs 8.8 lakh were recovered in Zokhawthar, with two suspected peddlers arrested.
A separate operation in Aizawl led to the arrest of one person and the recovery of a US-made .32-calibre pistol, magazine and three live rounds.
Officials said the suspected drugs were smuggled from Myanmar through border areas vulnerable to narcotics trafficking.
