Bairabi-Sairang Rail Link Transforms Mizoram Travel and Freight

A new railway line now connects Bairabi and Sairang.
Sairang is closer to Aizawl, Mizoram’s capital.
Trains can take passengers to places such as Guwahati, Kolkata and Delhi.
A passenger service also connects Sairang with Silchar.
In its first year, more than 15 lakh people used the trains.
Freight trains brought goods such as cement, rice and fertilisers into the state.

The 51.38-km Bairabi-Sairang railway line completed its first year of operations.
More than 15 lakh passengers traveled on the line during its first year.
The route handled over 2,500 freight wagons carrying cement, stone, sand, rice and fertilisers.
Passenger services now connect Sairang with Guwahati, Kolkata, Delhi and Silchar.
The line includes 45 tunnels, 153 bridges and four stations, bringing rail access closer to Aizawl.
