Yokohama India Launches Geolandar X-CV Tyres For Crossovers, Premium SUVs
Yokohama is a company that makes tyres for cars.
Its Indian branch has just introduced a brand-new tyre called the Geolandar X-CV.
The tyre is made for SUVs, which are big cars that families often use for long trips.
Earlier, this tyre only came in very large sizes for huge luxury SUVs.
Now, for the first time, it comes in smaller sizes too, so more cars can use it.
The tyres are built in India.
The company says the new tyre grips the road better in rain and lasts longer than regular tyres.
Nobody outside the company has checked those promises yet.
The first sizes go on sale in August 2026, and more sizes will arrive in the next few months.
Yokohama India has launched the Geolandar X-CV tyre range for crossovers and premium SUVs, offering 16 to 20 inch sizes for the first time.
The locally manufactured line will total 32 sizes, with 17 available immediately and the remaining 15 arriving within two to three months.
Based on internal testing, Yokohama claims 20 per cent better wet grip and 10 per cent longer tyre life, though the claims have not been independently verified.
The tyre suits petrol, hybrid and electric SUVs, including the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon EV, Tata Harrier EV, Mahindra XUV700 and Kia Seltos, as well as premium models such as the BMW X5, Porsche Cayenne, Volvo XC90, Mercedes-Benz GLS, Audi Q7 and Range Rover.
India pricing is estimated at roughly Rs 9,200 to Rs 31,000 per tyre, with a no-cost EMI offer during the introductory period.
