Telangana Expands Welfare and Education Support for SC, ST Communities

Telangana’s government says it wants to help poor students and young people from SC and ST communities.

Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said education costs will be supported.

A programme called Rajiv Yuva Vikasam will provide money to help eligible young people start small businesses.

Its first assistance phase is planned for 19 November.

The government is also planning mechanised kitchens in SC residential schools.

These kitchens are intended to provide nutritious food to students.

Officials will track former students and study how current students are progressing.

The government also wants more career-focused courses and new Ekalavya schools.
