Bhatti Calls for Caste Census to Promote Equitable Wealth Sharing
Caste Census Needed for Justice to Weaker Sections, Equitable Wealth Sharing: Bhatti · deccanchronicle.com

Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka wants the national Census to count people by caste.

He says this would show how different communities are doing.

The information could reveal differences in education, jobs, land ownership and income.

Leaders could then use the data to design better welfare and development programs.

Telangana has already conducted a detailed survey covering these subjects.

Bhatti believes that survey could be used as a model for the whole country.

He says the Central Government had earlier promised to include caste information but is not doing so in the current Census.

He asked Bharatiya Janata Party members to clearly explain their position.
