NCP-SP MPs to meet Narendra Modi, oppose FCRA Bill
A group of leaders from a political party in India are planning to talk to the country's Prime Minister.
The party is called NCP-SP, and one of its leaders is Supriya Sule.
She said that eight party members will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday.
They want to talk about problems in the state of Maharashtra.
These problems include water shortages, farmers taking their own lives, and cities growing too fast.
The leaders also want to discuss money, called development funds, that their areas deserve.
They say the state government is not helping them use that money.
The party also does not like a new law called the FCRA Bill and wants it changed or studied by a committee.
The leaders say big decisions should only be made after everyone talks and agrees together.
NCP (SP) working president Supriya Sule announced that eight party MPs will meet PM Narendra Modi at his Parliament office on Monday.
The delegation will raise Maharashtra issues including the water crisis, farmer suicides, and challenges from rapid urbanisation.
MPs will discuss problems in utilising their Rs 5-crore development funds, which Sule said face hurdles due to a lack of state government support.
The party opposes the FCRA Bill, 2026, in its present form and has called for its withdrawal or referral to a joint committee of Parliament.
Sule said the party is willing to debate the legislation but will not accept any decision made without discussion and consensus.
