UP Power Companies Resolve 99% of 2.017 Million Complaints
In a big state called Uttar Pradesh, millions of people use electricity every day.
Sometimes they have problems, like the power goes out or their bill looks wrong.
In July, about two million people told the power companies about their problems.
The companies worked very hard to fix them, and they fixed almost all of them — about 99 out of every 100.
The biggest problem people had was not getting power, and every single one of those was fixed.
People can call a special free phone number, 1912, any time of the day or night for help.
The power companies are also setting up special camps in August where people can get help in person.
Because it is the rainy season, there is more danger from electricity near water, so kids are being told to stay away from power poles and puddles.
If there is an emergency, people should call 1912 right away.
Uttar Pradesh power distribution companies registered 2.017 million consumer complaints in July 2026, resolving about 99.01% of them.
Power supply issues were the most common complaint category and achieved 100% resolution.
Complaints were spread across five DISCOMs: MVVNL (over 642,000), PVVNL (over 534,000), DVVNL (over 364,000), PuVVNL (over 312,000) and KESCO (over 164,000).
The electricity department's 1912 helpline operates round the clock, and special UPPCL consumer service camps run from August 1 to August 31, 2026.
The department advised extra caution during the monsoon due to higher risk of electric current near power poles, transformers, meter boxes and waterlogged areas.
