TGSPDCL's Basti Baata programme brings power services to doorsteps
People in a city called Hyderabad get electricity from a company called TGSPDCL, which is short for the Telangana State Power Distribution Company Limited.
The head of the company, Mr. Jitesh V. Patil, started a new programme called 'Basti Baata'.
In this programme, company workers visit different neighbourhoods instead of making people come to an office.
Every Thursday, they go to all 21 areas that the company looks after.
People can tell them about problems like power cuts, low voltage, broken transformers and tree branches touching wires.
The workers try to fix these problems right on the spot.
Mr. Patil also watched repair work and tree trimming in a place called Begumpet.
He asked his team to keep good-quality repair materials at every section office.
The goal is to give people fast, honest and helpful service.
TGSPDCL launched the 'Basti Baata' outreach programme at Begumpet, Hyderabad, on Thursday.
Chairman and Managing Director Jitesh V. Patil interacted with consumers and ordered immediate action on issues such as supply interruptions, low voltage and transformer problems.
The programme is held every Thursday across all 21 Circles under TGSPDCL.
Field teams visit neighbourhoods to resolve on the spot issues including power supply reliability, tree trimming near lines, electrical safety, new connections and maintenance works.
Patil directed N. Narsimhulu to ensure standard display units of essential O&M materials are available at every section office.
