Officials working on the Dharavi redevelopment project have told 85 more households to leave their homes.

They say the buildings need to be cleared so redevelopment can continue.

The families were given 10 days to move after the order was issued.

Seventeen households have agreed to leave after speaking with officials.

Other households are still being counselled.

Officials say residents had chances to raise objections during hearings.

Ground-floor residents can receive Rs 18,000 each month for temporary housing, while upper-floor residents can receive Rs 15,000.

People who do not leave may face eviction and demolition proceedings.
