Suryapath Tiranga relay concludes across 54 countries on I-Day
India has a special flag called the Tiranga.
This year, the flag took a very big trip all around the world.
The trip was called the Suryapath Tiranga Global Relay, which means following the path of the sun.
The journey started in a country called Fiji, where the sun rises early.
From there, the flag was passed from one Indian embassy to another as the sun rose in each new country.
The trip lasted more than 19 hours and crossed 54 countries.
It ended in San Francisco, in the United States.
The relay happened because India was celebrating its 80th Independence Day.
It was part of a campaign called Har Ghar Tiranga, which wants every home to show the flag.
The relay also celebrated 150 years of a famous patriotic song called Vande Mataram.
The first-of-its-kind Suryapath Tiranga Global Relay concluded after travelling from Fiji in the East to the United States in the West across 54 countries.
The chain of flag-hoisting ceremonies spanned more than 19 hours, from 1:30 am IST in Suva, Fiji, to 8:30 pm IST in San Francisco, following the path of the rising sun.
Held as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, the relay marked India's 80th Independence Day and 150 years of Vande Mataram.
Indian missions hoisted the tricolour at dawn and handed the relay to the next country on X, linking the Pacific, Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas.
Several embassies presented certificates to top scorers of the Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz (Independence Day Special Edition) organised by the MEA.
