Widespread Rain Expected in Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread rainfall in Konkan-Goa and Madhya Maharashtra until August 2.

Pune city and its suburbs are under a yellow alert for heavy rain at isolated places until July 30.

The rain is expected to be accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds.

Some areas in Pune have already received significant rainfall, with Chinchwad and Pashan recording 12 mm each, Shivajinagar 11.7 mm, Koregaon Park 11 mm, and the NDA station 2 mm by 5.30 pm on Monday.

The Pune district was also under a yellow alert for light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning.

Girivan recorded 50.5 mm and Kurvande 37.5 mm in the 24 hours ending Monday morning.

Residents are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions.
