Aadhaar face authentication gets easier: UIDAI launches new SDK and Sandbox—what users should know · livemint.com

UIDAI has introduced new software for Aadhaar face authentication.

The software lets banks and other companies put face verification inside their own apps.

This means users may not need to open a separate Aadhaar FaceRD app.

The SDK does not authenticate a face by itself; it helps other apps use UIDAI’s authentication technology.

It includes checks to help detect whether a real person is present and prevent spoofing.

A separate Sandbox lets developers test the system safely before releasing it.

Users will notice the change only if their bank, insurer, broker or fintech adds the SDK.

UIDAI says the face authentication system is already used by nearly 200 organisations.
