Gurugram woman booked as video of house help’s ‘assault’ amid ‘row over chores’ sparks suo motu FIR · theprint.in

A video on the internet showed a woman hurting her house helper.

The woman's name is Ruchira Sachdeva, and she is 52 years old.

In the clip, she appears to slap the helper and pull her hair.

The helper is a grown-up from Nepal who worked at Sachdeva's home for over two years.

The video was recorded from a neighbour's window and was about 90 seconds long.

Many people saw it online and got very upset.

Police arrested Sachdeva even though no one filed a complaint.

They did this because the video was serious enough on its own.

Sachdeva was allowed to go home on bail the same day because her offence is bailable.

Police are now searching for the helper to hear what really happened.
