Gang Robs Lawyer’s Family of Gold, Cash on Expressway
A lawyer was driving with his family on an expressway in Maharashtra.
The family was travelling from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar toward Mumbai.
Police said a group of 11 to 12 men stopped their car by damaging a tyre.
The men allegedly attacked the family and threatened their small child.
They took gold jewellery and cash worth Rs 18.09 lakh.
The gang reportedly also attacked people in another car, but details about that incident are not available.
The suspects were described as Hindi-speaking men aged about 30 to 35.
Police are checking cameras and other information to find them.
A gang of 11 to 12 men allegedly stopped a lawyer’s car on the Samruddhi Expressway in Nashik district.
Police said the robbers threw an iron object that burst the vehicle’s front tyre.
The gang allegedly assaulted the lawyer and his family and threatened his toddler son.
The family was robbed of 27.8 tolas of gold jewellery and Rs 84,500 in cash, valued at Rs 18.09 lakh.
Police registered a case at Wavi police station and are using CCTV footage and technical intelligence to trace the suspects.
