Tata Motors Expands BaaS Across Entire Electric Vehicle Line-up

Tata Motors is offering a different way to pay for its electric cars.

Under Battery-as-a-Service, the car and its battery are financed separately.

This makes the amount paid at the beginning smaller.

Customers then pay a separate battery instalment or usage charge.

The charge depends on things such as battery size, down payment and loan length.

The programme now covers six Tata electric models, from the Tiago.ev to the Harrier.ev.

Battery costs range from ₹2.6 to ₹5.9 for each kilometre.

These charges do not include electricity for charging, repairs or maintenance.

Tata says the plan gives buyers more ways to compare electric-car ownership costs.
