J&K’s Online RTI Portal Draws 65,000 Applications in 19 Months

Jammu and Kashmir has an online website where people can ask the government for information.

More than 65,000 questions were submitted through it in 19 months.

People also filed more than 9,000 appeals when they were not satisfied with an answer or response.

The figures came from the General Administration Department.

Activist Raman Kumar Sharma requested the information using the RTI law.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah launched the portal in 2025.

Sharma said the high number of applications shows that people are using the website.

He also said more local government offices should be added to the system.
