7.99 Lakh Waqf Properties Listed on UMEED Central Portal-2025
Waqf properties are lands and buildings that people gave to the Muslim community long ago to help others.
The Indian government made a big website called UMEED Central Portal-2025.
This website keeps a list of all these special properties.
On August 7, the list already had 7.99 lakh properties on it.
A lakh is one hundred thousand, so that is a very big number.
Most of the listed properties are in Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
The website opened on June 6, 2025.
The law says all Waqf properties must be uploaded on this portal.
Some people had trouble using the website at first.
The government added more server power so the website works smoothly.
As of August 7, 7.99 lakh Waqf properties have been listed on the UMEED Central Portal-2025.
Uttar Pradesh (1.52 lakh) and West Bengal (1.31 lakh) lead in properties uploaded to the portal.
The portal was launched on June 6, 2025 under the UMEED Act, 1995, as amended by the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025.
Maharashtra returned the most properties to waqf makers at 9,292, followed by Kerala (4,418) and Gujarat (3,198).
The Ministry of Minority Affairs said early technical issues were transitional and boosted server capacity before the six-month deadline.
