At Mildenhall air base in the UK, Trump was secretly returned to the older Air Force One through a different entrance, making it appear he had flown on that jet.
Journalists traveling with Trump and some White House staff were not told about the switch and served as unwitting decoys aboard the older Air Force One.
Trump acknowledged the switch, saying the Secret Service and military ordered it over a threat from Iran, after initially saying the Qatar-donated 747 flew ahead so US troops could tour it.
