Trump secretly left Turkey on military flight amid Iran threat

The President of the United States travels on special airplanes, and the most famous one is called Air Force One.

After a big meeting of world leaders in Ankara, Turkey, President Trump needed to fly to Britain.

Before the trip, American officials found out that people from Iran might try to hurt him, maybe even shoot his airplane with a missile.

So the people who protect the president made a very secret plan to keep him safe.

President Trump walked up the stairs of the big plane in front of cameras, so everyone thought he would fly on it.

But then he quietly left that plane and was carried across the airport in a tall food-service truck, the kind that brings meals to airplanes.

The truck took him to a smaller, secret military plane that nobody was supposed to know about.

The big plane flew away with reporters on it, and they did not even know the president was no longer on board.

The reporters were told to close their window shades, and President Trump later joked that they might be on a dangerous flight, saying 'if I go, you go.'

President Trump landed safely in Britain, and the whole trick was done to protect him from danger.
