Truck crash kills 2 pilgrims, injures 17 in Maharashtra
A truck was driving too fast on a highway in Maharashtra and crashed into a pickup truck that was carrying people who were going to a temple.
The pickup was torn apart and two of the people inside died.
Seventeen more people were hurt and are getting medical care.
The people were returning from a special prayer at the Sai temple in Shirdi.
Police said the crash was very serious and the pickup was ripped in two.
A speeding truck hit a pickup carrying Sai devotees near Alani Chowk, Yedshi.
Two pilgrims, Chhabu Dudhbhate (40) and Babruwan Suryawanshi (65), died after critical injuries.
Seventeen other pilgrims were injured and are being treated at Government Hospital in Dharashiv.
Victims were returning from prayers at the Sai temple in Shirdi after Guru Purnima.
Police said the pickup was ripped in two and the crash was severe.
