Dhar Student Om Rawat Invited to Delhi Independence Day Celebrations
Om Rawat is a school student from Dhar, a town in Madhya Pradesh.
He did very well in a big quiz about India's Constitution, women freedom fighters, space and science.
More than one lakh young people took part in the quiz.
Because Om was one of the 114 winners, he was invited to Delhi for India's Independence Day celebrations.
He will go with his father as a special guest.
In the same town, people from the Muslim community met a senior official about a fight at a holy place called a dargah.
They said some visitors were trying to disturb peace and hurt religious feelings.
The visitors said the well inside the dargah, called Akkal Kuiya, is open to everyone.
Officials said they will act according to the law, while the administration also looks for other places for Friday prayers near Bhojshala.
Om Rawat, a Class 11 student from Dhar, was invited as a special guest to Independence Day celebrations in New Delhi after being selected among 114 youth nationwide for the Yuva Shakti: Journey to Developed India @ 2047 programme.
The Ministry of Defence, in collaboration with My Bharat and MyGov, organised four online quizzes from June 1 to July 31 on the Constitution, women freedom fighters, technological and space achievements, and nuclear technology, with 1,13,578 youth participating.
Rawat and his father Santosh Rawat were invited to the celebrations, and an Intelligence Bureau team from Delhi visited Dhar for verification ahead of his participation.
Muslim community representatives submitted a memorandum to Collector Rajeev Ranjan Meena alleging that Sonu Gaikwad, Ashish Basu, Radheshyam Yadav and others were attempting to disturb communal harmony and hurt religious sentiments following an altercation at the Dargah of Hazrat Khwaja Maulana Kamaluddin Chishti.
Basu said the group had entered the dargah premises to see the 'Akkal Kuiya' well, claiming the place was open to everyone, while the administration continued discussions on alternative locations for Friday prayers near Bhojshala amid space constraints.
