Ujjain Council Approves Key Simhastha Proposals Amid Opposition

The Ujjain Municipal Corporation Council had a special meeting to discuss and approve important plans for the city.

They decided to demolish old public toilets and build new ones.

They also approved plans to widen roads and compensate people who have to give up their buildings for these projects.

The council discussed transferring a swimming complex to the sports department and approved a loan to buy and sell development rights for road expansion.

However, the opposition party, Congress, disagreed with some of these plans.

They said the government should compensate people who are losing their homes for public projects and that the council was not being fair in their anti-encroachment drives.

The opposition even protested outside the council headquarters, saying the city's roads and water supply are in bad condition.

Despite the disagreements, the council approved most of the plans.
