Vande Mataram Played for First Time as Monsoon Session Ends

The Lok Sabha is one of India's two houses of Parliament, where leaders meet to make rules for the country.

On the last day of a special meeting time called the Monsoon Session, leaders started the day by playing a famous song called Vande Mataram.

This song has six parts, called stanzas, and all six were played.

It was the very first time this song opened the Lok Sabha's work.

Important people like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi were there.

Just days earlier, President Droupadi Murmu signed a new law that gives this song legal protection.

Now, if someone stops the song from being played or disrupts it, they can be punished, just like with the National Anthem.

The Monsoon Session started on July 20 and ended on August 13.

The session had many arguments between the government and opposition leaders, but it still ended with this special, historic moment.
