Veligonda Displaced Families Protest for Complete Rehabilitation Package
Some families moved because of the Pula Subbaiah Veligonda project say they have not received their promised help.
They protested outside the district Collectorate in Markapur on Monday.
The families want house sites, compensation and other rehabilitation support.
The protest was organised under the CPM banner.
Police stopped them from holding a ‘Vanta Varpu’ protest at the entrance.
The protesters then sat at the main gate instead.
CPM leader Ramadevi questioned Minister Nimmala Rama Naidu about the delayed promises.
She also asked whether any family had received full compensation and what happened to the promised payment for young people who turned 18.
