CPI Seeks Pula Subbaiah Statue at Veligonda Project Site

He said the first phase has been completed and Krishna river water has entered the project.

He asked the government to place a statue honoring CPI leader Pula Subbaiah at the site.

Narayana said Subbaiah had campaigned for the project decades ago.

He also credited several former chief ministers with helping complete the project.

The CPI wants the second phase to move faster.

It also wants families displaced by the project to receive their pending rehabilitation support.

The full project is expected to provide water to many mandals and drinking water to 20 lakh people.
