Govt Notifies 405-Item Defence Indigenisation List Worth Rs 3,070 Crore

The Indian government wants to make more defence things like helicopter parts, aircraft, tanks and warships inside India instead of buying them from other countries.

This idea is called Aatmanirbharta, which means self-reliance.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh told everyone about a new list of 405 items that India wants to make by itself.

The list includes parts for helicopters, Su-30MKI aircraft, tanks, warships, missiles and electronic gadgets used by the military.

These items are worth about Rs 3,070 crore, which is a huge amount of money.

Indian companies, especially small and medium businesses, can try to make them.

Once an Indian company makes an item successfully, the government will buy it from that company.

This gives Indian workers and companies more opportunities, investment and jobs.

Many defence company shares went up after the news because investors were excited.

The goal is to make India stronger and less dependent on other countries for its defence needs.
