A group called the Karnataka Humanity Welfare Trust held a programme about the dangers of drugs in Chamrajpet, Bengaluru.

It wanted people, especially young people, to learn about the harms of drug abuse.

Minister and local MLA B. Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan guided the event.

Police officers, doctors, religious leaders and community members also took part.

The organisers said families, public institutions and communities all have a role in prevention.

They called for awareness and lawful action to work alongside medical care and rehabilitation.

They also encouraged people affected by substance abuse to seek help.

The event ended with a call for continued public participation.
