Assam Governor Links Drug-Free Society to Developed India

Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya spoke at an anti-drug march in Diphu.

He said India needs healthy, educated and responsible people to become more developed.

He said young people are very important to the country’s future.

He encouraged them to focus on education, skills, sports and new ideas.

Students, officials and community groups joined the march.

Acharya said fighting drugs cannot be done by the government alone.

Families, schools, social groups and religious groups must also help.

He said the large crowd showed that people want to challenge drug abuse.
