Hyderabad Water Supply Disrupted for 24 Hours for Maintenance
The city of Hyderabad gets its drinking water from a big project called Singur.
The pipes that carry this water need big repairs.
So the people in charge of the water, called the water board, are stopping the water for a little while.
The water will stop on August 17 at 10 o'clock in the morning.
It will come back on August 18 at 10 o'clock in the morning.
That means some homes will have no water for one whole day.
Some neighborhoods will have a little water, and others may have very weak water pressure.
The water board is asking everyone to be careful and not waste water while the repairs happen.
After the repairs are done, water should flow to homes again like before.
Drinking water supply to parts of Hyderabad will be disrupted for 24 hours, from 10 am on August 17 to 10 am on August 18, due to major maintenance and pipeline works at the Singur project.
Affected areas include BHEL, MIG-I and II, Rail Vihar, Chandanagar, Indian School of Business and KPHB Colony.
Gayatrinagar, Borabanda and ESI are expected to face complete disruption, while Shaikpet, Kokapet, Manikonda and Narsingi will face partial disruption.
SR Nagar, Erragadda, Ameerpet, Sanathnagar, NIMS, Banjara Hills, Kondapur and other listed areas may receive inadequate or low-pressure supply.
HMWS&SB has urged consumers in the affected areas to use water judiciously during the 24-hour maintenance period.
