Tamil Nadu has finished the first part of India’s 2027 Census.

Workers visited homes to record information about houses and basic services.

People could also submit their information online before the visits began.

More than 10 lakh households used this online option.

Over 1.15 lakh enumerators and 19,000 supervisors helped cover the state.

They used a secure mobile application instead of paper forms.

The information will be kept confidential and used for planning and statistics.

The next phase, which counts every resident, will happen in February 2027.
