Andhra Cabinet Approves PPP Policy, Withdraws Disha Bill
The leaders of Andhra Pradesh, a state in India, had a big meeting called a Cabinet meeting.
They approved 33 decisions to help the state grow.
One plan, called the PPP Policy, invites companies to help build roads, airports, hospitals and schools.
The plan sets aside Rs 1,500 crore to help projects that need money.
They also decided to remove an old law called the Disha Bill, because new national laws already protect women and children.
They approved new buildings and other projects for Amaravati, the state's capital city.
They gave money to build steps by the river, called bathing ghats, for a big festival in 2027.
They kept electricity cheaper for fish farmers.
The meeting made many decisions to help the state grow and welcome more investment.
The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet approved 33 agenda items, including the draft PPP Policy 2026, withdrawal of the Disha Bill, and key Amaravati infrastructure and industrial proposals.
The PPP Policy 2026 seeks to fast-track Rs 1.23 lakh crore of projects, with Rs 1,500 crore in Viability Gap Funding and a new Bridge Fund for projects with long-term revenue potential.
The Disha Bill was withdrawn after the Union Ministry of Home Affairs advised a fresh bill, as its objectives are now substantially covered by the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita.
Amaravati proposals cleared include re-tendering the Amaravati Eye project, twin office towers at Quantum Valley Tech Park, a Rs 300 crore APCRDA loan, and land pooling for a railway line and Inner Ring Road.
Other approvals include Rs 210.06 crore for 238 bathing ghats for Godavari Pushkaralu-2027, a Rs 680.2 crore HUDCO loan, 15 new DEO posts, and an extended Rs 1.5 per unit electricity subsidy for aquaculture farmers.
